South Asian & Arab Bridal Looks and Tips

Summer time is notorious for weddings, and with that a lot of people are looking for ideas and just inspiration on how to create a spin of or replicate a look that is colorful, tasteful, and flawless. Below I put together two variations of bridal looks that I have typically done for my clients, on myself.

The first look is a natural and blended soft, yet dramatic look.  Aside from the color near the brow-bone,  I used mostly matte finishes. It’s important to do so, because when the cameras are flashing, a brides face can be washed out by the lighting, when either satin finishes or any other “glittery” finish is used. So you want to try and stick with matte as much as possible especially on the face (i.e. blush, foundation, powder) or the makeup will wear you, you will not wear the makeup. Another important tip to keep in mind is to DEFINE THE BROWS!! I’ve sen a lot of wedding photos where the brow was not defined, and it did not give that clean cut and professional look to the photo, as well as not doing the bride justice. Always make sure your brows are threaded, waxed, plucked..what have you and make sure that you define them with a brow pencil or powder that matches your brows. It may feel different and a little heavy at first, but trust the artist and allow them to do so. Make sure that you use a soft highlight. I used one by Too Faced Afterglow in Lust. I put it down my nose using a fan brush, and along the top of of my cheek bones. You want to appear as you’re glowing, but you do not want to look shiny. Because that will display in the pictures.

The second look can be seen as dramatic, and a typical Arabic inspired look. Simply because of the extension in the liner, and the the way the eyeliner is cut at the bottom, filling with highlight toward the inner eye, and lastly the sharp edged cut with the eyeshadow on the outer eye.

Now, too add more pizzaz you can always apply false lashes. I only apply them for my clients, and try to stay away from them myself :)
