I’ve recently bought a few Rimmel London products. I’ve always been satisfied with their mascara, especially the RIMMEL GLAM’EYES Mascara in Black. It works so flawlessly. It adds volume and length (for me) with this brush that just lifts and separates every single lash. Aside from that fact I purchased a few of their other products. One I was not so fond of, and the other two were AMAZING!
Lets give the BAD news first
I purchased the 60 SECONDS VINYL STARS nail polish in 651 Eccetricity. This product looked lovely in its bottle. I love golds, and I think that golds against rich tones really pop and I was excited to just use it on my finger/toe nails and have a little bit of glow for the summer time. NO WAY! The product went on very sparse. You would literally have to put on about three different coats to get a great results. You don’t even get the little shapes that you see in the bottle like the round circles, you only get the little flecks of glitter. Super disappointing, but it wasn’t such a hefty price to be really mad over. Just something to avoid. In a sense it reminded me of the little girl nail polish that comes with her Barbie toy, that really doesn’t do much but pleases the child. That’s what it reminded me of.

Now to the good news. The RIMMEL LONDON VOLUME BOOST LIQUID LIPCOLOR was great. I did not buy this for myself, I typically bought it for my clients. My lips are as full as they should possibly be for my face. But I do understand the request that some people do want a pouty and full look to their lips. I tried this on myself to get the sensation, because some volume boosting lipcolor and REALLY sting and burn. Especially if you’re not used to it or experienced that “bee-sting” like sensation, it’s not pleasant. However, this did not give that. It felt a little menthol-ish. As if you were to drop peppermint in your lips. For me, I didn’t see anything too dramatic but I did notice some of the natural lines in my lips smooth out. It gave enough color that you can wear it for any occasion really. You can wear it with a more detailed makeup look or just by itself everyday with a little mascara. I bought this product in several colors. This product is not expensive, and it has a great texture. It’s not a watery product, is semi-thick and you don’t have to worry about applying it so often. Put it on, and forget about it.
- 160 Innocent-A sheer baby pink color for fair women
- 170 Kiss Me-A true red color that looks great on pretty much any skin tone, even the darkest
- 180 Starry Eyed-My personal favorite, a beautiful berry look for dark to deep tones
- 190 Breathless- A deeper pink tone that works wonderfully for medium to tan tones

Lastly, I really adored a product called VOLUME FLASH INSTANT THICKENING MASCARA. Again, I bought this product in a two eye enhancing colors just to try to see if I would like it. It did a pretty good job. I’ve always been a fan of their mascaras, and I wish I would’ve bought more (and probably will go back and buy more) because I was happy with the result. The brush was nice and thin and spiky, so you could grab those inner lashes, outer lashes, and bottom lashes that are sometimes difficult to do with a thicker brush. My lashes are long, and a thicker brush sometimes leaves that mark on my eyelid that I don’t care for.
- 006 Black Sapphire-For brown eyes, or even blue if you want to achieve that “dreamy eyed” look
- 008 Black Emerald-For hazel and brown eyes.

So, those are my product reviews. To each her own, but I do believe that a good majority of ethnic women can enjoy these products. Rimmel London is NOT known for specializing in products for a diverse crowd, however I do believe that ethnic women of all backgrounds can enjoy these products. You have to take what you can from what is available!
