Hair: Summer ‘Dos

If you haven’t been noticing lately pony tails are very in! They are super functional, and can be dressed up or down.  For the look above, I spray Beyond The Zone Super Sexy Hair Pro Formula hair spray and scrunched my hair with the product. Off center parted my hair, twisting the front side with more hair and pulling out a piece of hair under the twist, and threw it back in a pony tail. Simple enough, right? Right! So simple that it literally only took me five mins to do (or less).  Beyond The Zone Super Sexy Hair Pro Formula hair spray can be found at Sally’s Hair Supply, for around $6. A great value for not only the size of the product, but how well it maintains a hairstyle.

To accentuate a pony tail, I like to add in a braid, or the “milk maid braid” to be more specific. I’m sure you’ve seen this look everywhere and on everyone. However, that’s because it looks good on anyone. Long hair, short hair, medium hair; it doesn’t really matter. It really draws attentions to the face shape, and gives you an opportunity to play up your eyes. However, it’s a life-saver for those with long hair who want to get the hair off of their neck during hot summer days. Or, for those of you with short hair who don’t necessarily need to pull the hair off your neck, you can create a half up, half down look. I will be demonstrating the milk maid braid in both variations in a video tutorial very soon.

For those of you who don’t know how to braid, you can try the twist method that I used above. Just ensure that your twisting is tight and secure, so that it does not unravel throughout the day.  Also, remember to always use an anti frizz serum to control the fly aways and the heat from frizzing and drying your hair out during a warm or humid day.
